AlManarah Marks the End of School Workshop Activities 2009-2010
10/07/2010 23:50:45
This special event, held at our Multi-Services Centre in Nazareth on June 30th, was facilitated by Mr. Muhammed Diab - Social Awareness Program Coordinator, and Mr. Jalal Haresh who worked with Muhammed on the Program (ÇáãÒíÏ)

both of whom expressed their excitement at the huge success of this year, which saw over a hundred workshops conducted throughout schools. The Program has expanded its geographical impact, this year reaching not only schools in Nazareth and its surroundings, but numerous towns and villages throughout the Triangle region.
The event hosted children from Galilee High School, the Sisters of St. Joseph High School, and representatives from several other schools from Nazareth and its surroundings. Sally Haresh, an eighth grade student from Galilee High School represented her classmates and expressed her gratitude for the great enjoyment and awareness the students gained through participating in the program’s activities. Next a surprise was arranged for Jalal Haresh: Adv. Abbass honored him with a certificate for his success in leading numerous workshops. The highpoint of the event saw satirist and actor Hisham Sliman entertain the students with his sketches: one talked about the World Cup – people in Arab society, he said, bought many flags costing more than 10 million shekels; but when you’re a non-profit organization wanting to raise money people typically exclaim ‘But we are very poor! We have no money to donate!’ Hisham’s sketches amused everyone.
Adv. Abbass thanked the school students for their cooperation throughout the school year, and he announced that AlManarah is planning to expand the programs’ impact even further to included southern cities to include Bedouin villages in the Negev. In addition, AlManarah is planning to launch a new Trainers Group to increase the staff of the Social Awareness Program.
