AlManarah’s Hand-to-Hand Empowerment Group, a self-help group for parents of children with visual disabilities had a daytrip on July 8th to mark the end of their weekly meetings. (ÇáãÒíÏ)

The group was launched in July 2009 and their meetings had been facilitated by social worker Mahmoud Khatib. The trip took the parents to the Golan Heights, to the beautiful Tel Dan Nature Reserve. Fourteen people went on the trip; nine mothers and five AlManarah staff members, including AlManarah Board Chairperson Ms. Lina Zoaby and Director Adv. Abbass. The trip included a two hour trek through the park along the river. The mothers expressed the great pleasure and satisfaction they got through the self-help group and their wish that AlManarah continue contact with them. AlManarah is now planning to create a new program for these mothers, this time a group facilitated by social worker Tagrid Abbass.
