Adv. Abbass recently gave a lecture in Ashdod, south of Tel Aviv, for teachers of people with visual disabilities, as a part of their qualification for the new school year. The lecture included three sections. The first section included a personal story from Adv. Abbass as a person who is visually disabled.

AlManarah Association recently organized an event at its Multi-Services Center in Nazareth hosting Mr. Hisham Awad, a bank manager at Bank Hapoalim Express Yafa an-Naseriyye (a village near Nazareth).

AlManarah recently organized a seminar for imams at our Multi-Services Center in Nazareth. The main goal of the seminar was raising awareness among religious leaders in the Arab society of the rights of people with disabilities.

AlManarah has recently conducted a unique seminar for parents of blind and visually-impaired students from several villages in the North at our Multi-Services Centre in Nazareth entitled ‘Awakening the Giant Within’. The seminar included several interesting sessions.

Al-Manarah is continuing its seminar series of 2010 with a second seminar for parents of persons with disabilities in general and the Blind and visually-impaired in particular, thanks to the cooperation of the Ministry of Education’s department for blind and visually-impaired students in Osfia village.

Dr. Nir Tsuk, Director of Ashoka Israel – Innovators for the Public, has initiated a course entitled ‘Social Entrepreneurship’ for MBA students at Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva. The course includes theoretical and practical aspects of social entrepreneurship and its realization.

Al-Manarah has initiated its first seminar series of 2010 for parents of persons with disabilities in general and the Blind and visually-impaired in particular, thanks to the cooperation of the Municipality’s Welfare and Social Affairs Department in Boaini Nojidat village.

Al-Manarah has recently cooperated with Beit Berl College in organizing a seminar on the legal and social status of persons with disabilities. The seminar came about after being initiated by Dr. Jihad Haj Yahya, head of the college’s Special Education Department.

Al-Manarah recently participated in a conference at the Golden Crown Hotel in Nazareth, which included Muslim, Christian and Druze leaders.

Al-Manarah’s director Adv. Abbass Abbass was invited by Dr. Elias Zidan, a lecturer in Haifa University’s Business School, to give a lecture for MBA students who are specializing in non-profit organization management.
